Designed as a house for a young couple. The House appears modest with clean lines and big concrete planters, anticipating a redefinition of contemporary tropical house. The house with its concrete planter boxes occupied with different plants on both floors, creates a strong visual contrast with the surrounding buildings. This planters serves as an urban buffer between the street and the spaces inside, a connection between the couple and their neighbours. Upon entrance, one could experience the green patio tree, having a skylight above with light and cross ventilation while also able to read the whole ground floor visually. The central staircase of the house is elevated by connecting the vertical movement with the central tree.The back of the building is celebrated with an open lounge,dining area and dry kitchen with full height glass window that could open outwards towards a green lawn at the back. Taking inspiration from the tropical house, the concrete slab formwork was left in its natural aesthetics. The life of the building is expected to be continually improved, developed and grows organically along with the married couple.
